In French, “Marguerite” means “daisy.” Like that flower, our first Canadian-born female saint thrived in poor soil, nourished by her faith and enlightened by the Light of Divine Providence as she helped the most needy.
Follow in the footsteps of Marguerite and relive the history of New France through her work, which spread and changed life in communities elsewhere in Canada and in the United States.
Discover the life and the spirituality of this saint by visiting the three parts of the sanctuary that are dedicated to her:
The museum, where you can find information and artifacts that tell the story of Saint Marguerite’s life and work
The Basilica of Saint Anne, where lies the tomb of this saint, born in Varennes
